The acceptable level of aflatoxin in grains and cereals in kenya is 10PPB Total Aflatoxin and 5PPB Aflatoxin B1.since it is a natural poison that is produced by moulds it cant be totally avoided so every country has set a safe limit to protect it’s citizens.
the ministry of health is raising alarm on the increase levels of aflatoxins in maize grains that went upto 714PPB in 2024 which is very lethal for human and not even fit for animal consumption.
